Tennessee baseball shifts weekend game times due to weather

Tennessee baseball has announced a few time changes to the series against Samford this weekend that’s set to take place from Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Due to expected cold temperatures in the Knoxville area, Friday and Saturday afternoon game times have been moved up a couple of hours to 2 o’clock eastern time instead of the originally scheduled 4:30 and 4 o’clock first pitches. Sunday afternoon’s 1 o’clock game time will remain as scheduled.
Snow was in the area on Wednesday with some parts of Knox County seeing up to 1.5 inches. Thursday’s high is expected to only reach 25 degrees while the projected afternoon temperatures for Friday and Saturday are in the mid-to-upper 30s and expected to drop as the day progresses.
Tennessee had to alter its season-opening weekend series with Hofstra as well, moving Saturday and Sunday start times up a few hours, too.

The Vols (4-0) are off and running in the 2025 season, outscoring opponents by a 75-6 margin. All four games played to date (3 vs. Hofstra, 1 vs. UNC Asheville) have ended in seven innings via the run-rule. Tennessee tied a Tony Vitello era record with 29 runs on Tuesday night.
Samford, coached by Tony David, enters the matchup with a 3-1 record in the early season and is coming off a midweek 12-6 letdown at Jacksonville State. The Bulldogs swept Valparaiso last weekend to begin the year, ending things early in run-rule fashion on two separate occasions.
