Tennessee made the 2024 home-opener at Lindsey Nelson Stadium a good one as the Vols rallied late to win 3-2 over UNC Asheville in midweek action.

Tied at 2-runs apiece entering the home half of the seventh inning, Hunter Ensley’s sacrifice fly drove in the winning run as the Vols (3-1) finished the outing scoring three runs off five hits with one error defensively. The Bulldogs (0-4) plated the two runs off nine hits while also committing one error in the field.

Austin Hunley (1-0) earned the victory for Tennessee after tossing the final 3.1 innings on the mound with no runs and three hits while striking out one batter in the process. Jacob Williams (0-1) takes home the loss after allowing the go-ahead run to reach base via a leadoff walk in the seventh inning.

Tennessee returns to Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Wednesday for a midweek bout with ETSU beginning at 4:30 pm eastern time.
