Craven Wings Full-Court Press: Tennessee dominates in 86-44 beatdown over Austin Peay

Tennessee basketball wrapped up non-conference play with a dominant showing over in-state foe Austin Peay, 86-44, as the Vols were led by veterans Olivia Nkamhoua and Santiago Vescovi in scoring with a combined 38 points on the night.

It was the 100th home in of the Rick Barnes era at Tennessee and improved the Volunteers mark to 10-2 on the campaign. Rob Lewis caught up with Eric Cain to recap all the action on the Craven Wings Full-Court Press.

Tennessee shot an impressive 56 percent from the floor, converting on 36-of-64 shot attempts in the ballgame. The Vols tallied 27 assist on the night as well and outrebounded the Govs by a 47-26 margin. The Vols found success from beyond the three-point arch in this one, making 8-of-18 on the day, forcing 15 turnovers that led to 22 points the other way.

It was a complete game for Tennessee as Austin Peay managed just a 25 percent tally from the field on only 14 made field goals. Nkamhoua led the Volunteers with 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting whiel Vescovi added 18 points, shooting 5-for-5 from distance. Jonas Aidoo got int the action with 10 points and nine rebounds on 19 minutes played while Julian Phillips and Tyreke Key contributed nine and eight points, respectively.

Tennessee opens Southeastern Conference play at Ole Miss on December 28 before returning home for the conference-opener against Mississippi State on January 3.
