The Volquest Monday night chat
Tennessee is working to close out the 2023 recruiting class with a couple of big targets still on the board as Josh Heupel and his staff were again scattered around the country with in-home visits. Monday night, Heupel was in middle Tennessee to see top priority linebacker Arion Carter. Carter is fresh off his official visit to Alabama and announced on Monday that he’s going to make his decision this week.
The transfer portal is active, but Josh Heupel and the Vols have been pretty quiet and low key to this point. Will it heat up? The basketball team remains hot and heads to Arizona on Saturday to take on the Wildcats in another resume building opportunity.
In an announcement that surprised really no one, Cedric Tillman announced that he’s opting out of the Orange Bowl to get ready for the Senior Bowl and train for the draft. Darnell Wright has accepted his invitation to the Senior Bowl giving indication that he’s heading to the NFL next year and we expect an announcement from Jaylin Hyatt some time this week on his future.
