Tennessee gets surprise visit from 5-star RB Savion Hiter for 865 Live

The top-rated running back in the 2026 class is back in Knoxville this weekend for a surprise visit for the 865 Live recruiting weekend. Savion Hiter arrived on Friday night and is on campus with the Tennessee staff.
Hiter was most recently on campus in Knoxville back in early April and has an official visit set up for next month. He attended Tennessee’s matchup against Kentucky last November and was blown away by the atmosphere.
“It was electric,” Hiter told Volquest following the visit. “I mean, people are just together as a family, cheering for everybody and everybody rooting for Tennessee… I expected big out of Tennessee, and I got what I expected.”
Tennessee made a big move for him this spring with our intel saying it’s Michigan and the Vols at the top of this race as we head into official visits.

Hiter told Volquest he has built a good bond with second year Tennessee running backs coach De’Rail Sims.
He will visit Ohio State the weekend of May 30th, Georgia the weekend of June 6th, Michigan the weekend of June 13, and Tennessee the weekend of June 20. The Vols will get the final visit leading into the mandated dead period which runs through July 31st.
Savion Hiter’s On3 Scouting Summary
Gifted runner with an advanced blend of athleticism, fluidity and instincts as a high school underclassman. Physicallydeveloped, measuring in at over 5-foot-11 and around 190 pounds prior to his sophomore season. Registers as a strong athlete, running an 11.11 second mark in the 100-meters as a freshman. Also jumped close to 45 feet in the triple jump – an outstanding mark. Turned in a dominant freshman season, rushing for 1,526 yards and 24 touchdowns, averaging 11.7 yards per carry. Looks to be a natural runner. An extremely fluid and smooth mover who changes directions effortlessly. Cuts on a dime and makes defenders miss in space. Runs with the pace and instincts of a much older player. Has the burst and athleticism to pull away from the defense once in the open field. A phenomenal high school football player who also makes big plays on defense. Has the potential and upside to be one of the best running back prospects in several cycles.
