Tennessee's Josh Heupel kicks off game week as Vols prep for LSU announces Warren Burrell lost for the season
After a weekend off for the players and a weekend of recruiting for the coaching staff, the Tennessee football team was back to work Monday morning to continue their preparations for Saturday’s trip to LSU.
The Tigers are 2-0 in the SEC with two come from behind wins. Brian Kelly’s club was down 13-0 at home to Mississippi State before winning 31-16 as they completely shut down the Bulldogs in the second half.
Saturday night at Auburn, LSU was down 17-0 before rallying for a 21-17 win.
Meanwhile, Josh Heupel’s club is 4-0 and ranked again in the top-10. The Vols were 38-33 winners over Florida in their last outing. But the defense did give up 594 yards of offense in a game that featured one combined punt.

Tennessee receiver Cedric Tillman is less than two weeks removed from “tightrope” surgery to try and speed up the healing process of a high ankle sprain. He’s questionable for Saturday.
Saturday’s game started at noon eastern/11am cst. It’s the first time Tennessee has played in Baton Rouge since 2010 when the Vols lost 16-14 thanks to having too many men on the field on the final play of regulation. The Vols last three trips to Tiger Stadium have been decided by a total of 12 points including two overtime games.
