Following a 5-0 week with wins over Radford, Xavier and St. Bonaventure, the Tennessee baseball program holds steady with multiple No. 1 rankings this week in the national polls.

The Vols (16-0) are off to the best start in program history by winning their first 16 games of the year. Tennessee won three of the five games this past week in run-rule fashion, but all five games were won by 10+ runs for the Volunteers.

UT is coming off a week where it outscored its opponents 71-13. Five Tennessee pitchers teamed up to toss the ninth no-hitter in program history Friday night against St. Bonaventure. It was also the fourth combined no-hitter in team history and the first of any kind since 2002.

Tennessee remained ranked No. 1 this week by the USA TODAY Coaches Poll, Baseball America and Perfect game. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has yet to release their updated poll, but the publication had Tennessee as the top-team last week.

D1 Baseball, the publication this website follows for national rankings, has the Vols at No. 2 once again behind LSU (16-1). The Tigers are coming off a 5-0 week as well with wins over North Dakota and North Alabama. Tennessee and Florid State, however, remain as the only two unbeaten teams left in the country.

Arkansas (15-1) checks in at No. 3 behind both LSU and Tennessee in the D1 Baseball poll following a 5-0 week with wins over UL Monroe and Portland. Georgia and Florida State leapfrog North Carolina up to four and five after the Tar Heels, who come in sixth, finished the week with a 2-2 record. Florida and Oregon State stand pat at No. 7 and No. 8 while Oregon and Clemson both move up one spot into the top-10.

Tennessee returns to the field on Tuesday for midweek action against West Georgia from Lindsey Nelson Stadium and then it is showtime as Southeastern Conference play begins with Florida at Tennessee this weekend.
