Southeastern Conference announces 2025 league games for baseball programs
The defending national champion Tennessee Volunteers are gearing up for the 2025 campaign and what could be their fourth trip to Omaha for the College World Series over a five-year span. But before all the postseason talk, Tony Vitello’s club must navigate the always challenging Southeastern Conference slate, as league games for the upcoming season were announced on Thursday.
Tennessee, who capped the 2024 conference schedule with a 22-8 record while sweeping both the regular season and SEC Tournament championships, will take on eight NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago while three of the five home series feature 2024 CWS programs.
The Vols will not play the two new additions to the 16-team conference – Texas or Oklahoma – during the course of the regular season. With the new conference layout, each SEC team will continue playing 10 conference three-game series. Tennessee’s permanent opponents are Alabama and Vanderbilt. In 2025, UT will hit the road to take on the Crimson Tide from March 21-23 and challenge the Commodores at home from May 9-11.
No shortage of marquee matchups this upcoming season!

Tennessee, who is set to take part in the Astros Foundation College Classic from February 28-March 2 in Houston, TX., opens the conference slate against Florida at home on March 14. The Vols hit the road the next weekend at Alabama and stay away from Knoxville for a series at South Carolina from March 28-30.
A rematch of the 2024 College World Series Finals boasts Texas A&M and Tennessee in Knoxville from April 4-6 before the Vols hit the road again for a series at Ole Miss that begins on April 11. The Rebels won the 2022 CWS Finals, but it was the Vols who outlasted the Aggies in Game 3 this past summer for the 6-3 victory that claimed the first national championship in program history.
