Tennessee fell behind early on the road at Alabama Saturday night but battled back to make it a close game at times as the night lingered on. Still, the comeback bid was not enough as the Crimson Tide doubled up the Volunteers 6-3 to set up the series rubber match up for Sunday afternoon.

The No. 5 Vols (18-2, 1-1 SEC) see their D1-leading 17-game win-streak come to an end, the second-longest win-streak in program history. No. 14 Alabama (6-3, 1-1 SEC) snap a two game-losing skid that dates back to Tuesday midweek loss at Southern Miss.

Drew Beam (3-1) takes home the loss for Tennessee after allowing six runs (five earned) over eight hits in eight innings pitched with six strikeouts and two walks. The righty retired the final 13 batters he faced. Greg Farone (3-0) earned the win after tossing 5.1 innings of one-run ball.

Tennessee and Alabama will meet for the winner-take-all game three of the series on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm ET. Here’s how it all went down on a Saturday night for Tennessee.
