How it Happened: Tennessee drills Auburn 19-5 for another run-rule victory

Tennessee captured its third-straight Southeastern Conference series-win with it’s second-straight run-rule victory over Auburn, blasting the Tigers in game three by a final score of 19-5 Sunday afternoon on The Plains.
The Vols (26-6, 7-5 SEC) were highlighted by a second-run second inning and four-run third while the Tigers (18-13, 2-10 SEC) managed just two runs following a three-run first inning.
Nate Snead (6-1) earned the victory on the mound for Tennessee after tossing four innings of relief where he allowed two runs off five hits with three strikeouts. Will Cannon (0-1) is charged with the loss after surrendering six runs off three hits in just 1.1 innings of work in the spot-start.
Tennessee returns to action on Tuesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium against Alabama A&M, but first, here’s how it all went down for the Big Orange on Sunday on The Plains.
