How it Happened: Blake Burke and Drew Beam lead Vols to another run-rule victory over Bowling Green
Tennessee dismissed Bowling Green in a hurry Saturday night, winning the ballgame in run-rule fashion yet again with the 12-1 final on Saturday night. With the victory, the Vols have won nine-straight and clinched the series over the Falcons.
Game three of the series is set for Sunday afternoon at 1 pm eastern time.
UT (10-1) exploded for a six-run sixth inning to put the run-rule in play. Tennessee finished the ballgame plating the 12 runs off 14 hits while Bowling Green (2-6) tapped out with only one run off five hits. The lone run of the game for the Falcons came on a leadoff home run of DJ Newman in the first.
Drew Beam (2-0) earned the victory after tossing seven innings of one-run, five-hit baseball with nine strikeouts and only one walk. Nic Good (0-1) is the loser after allowing four runs off seven hits in four innings of work.
