Tennessee baseball was heavily recognized by the Southeastern Conference Monday afternoon when the All-Conference squads were released as second baseman Christian Moore and outfielder Dylan Dreiling headlined the bunch as First-Team honorees.

It’s the first postseason All-SEC award for both as the two led a group of six Volunteers who racked up awards. Moore and Dreiling were named to the First-Team while first baseman Blake Burke and outfielder Kavares Tears were Second-Team recipients and were members of the All-Defensive squad. Shortstop Dean Curley was announced as a member of the All-Freshman team and right-handed starter Drew Beam was named Scholar Athlete of the Year for the conference.

Tennessee clinched a share of the SEC regular season title on the final day of the regular season with a 4-1 win over South Carolina, coupled with a 12-4 Vanderbilt win over Kentucky. The Vols and Wildcats finished conference play with identical 22-8 records in conference play, but Tennessee owns the tiebreaker and will be the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament this week due to owning the tiebreaker from winning the three-game series in April.

Moore’s historic season for the Orange & White has brought on national attention and his Major League Baseball Draft stock has risen drastically in the process as well.

The second baseman earned the distinctive Triple Crown award inside SEC play this season, leading the conference in 30 league bouts with a .429 batting average, 20 home runs and 41 runs batted in. Worth mentioning, Georgia’s Charlie Condon tied Moore with 41 RBI in SEC games this season, but the middle infielder finished ahead in the other two categories as the SEC Player of the Year (Condon) tapped out with a .412 batting average and 19 homers in conference games.

Moore finished the 2024 regular season hitting at a .388 clip with an outstanding 27 home runs and 60 RBI. The junior led the Vols in all three categories, as well with 87 hits, 64 runs scored, 181 total bases, .808 slugging percentage and .454 on-base percentage. He was a two-time SEC Player of the Week receipt and was recently named a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy – the award given annually to the national college baseball player of the year.

The Brooklyn, N.Y. native was tabbed the NCBWA Dick Howser National Player of the Month for April – as well as National Player of the Month (April) by perfect Game. Moore was on the Golden Spikes Midseason Watch List and was also named a D1 Baseball Player of the Week receipt earlier this season.

Moore is the current home run leader for the Vols, both for career and single season. The slugger has belted 54 career long balls and is currently at 27 on the season – while hitting from the leadoff spot in the order.

Dreiling burst onto the scene as a draft eligible sophomore in 2024, finishing second behind Moore with 59 RBI while hitting .333 as the everyday left fielder for the Vols. His 17 home runs were good enough for third on the squad and his 15 doubles were second only to Burke’s 23, as the first baseman is among the national leaders in the category. Dreiling also finished second to Moore in on-base percentage (.448) and slugging percentage (.716) while stealing two bases on three attempts with only two errors in the field compared to 75 put outs.

The sophomore was especially good inside the 30 conference games this spring, sporting a .333 batting average (third-best for Vols) while smashing 10 home runs. Outside of Moore’s 20 homers in league play, Dreiling was the only other Vols to register double-digit homers against league competition.
