Tennessee Baseball has sixth-best odds to win College World Series

Tennessee Baseball is the No. 14 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, but the Vols have the sixth-lowest odds to win the national championship, according to FanDuel. Tennessee is +1200 to defend its national championship, behind Arkansas (+470), LSU (+650), Vanderbilt (+650), Texas (+900) and North Carolina (+1000).
The Vols are -310 to win the Knoxville Regional, while Wake Forest is +360, Cincinnati is +850 and Miami (Ohio) is +2800.
Tennessee (43-16) faces Miami (Ohio) (35-21), the No. 4 seed in the Knoxville Regional, on Friday at 6 p.m. Eastern Time on ESPN+ at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
No. 2 Wake Forest (36-20) and No. 3 Cincinnati (32-24) play at 1 p.m. ET Friday. The winners and losers from the two games match up on Saturday in the double-elimination format.
Only four teams have better odds to win its regional than Tennessee at -310. Arkansas is -700, LSU is -390 and North Carolina is -350. Georgia is also -310.
Vanderbilt is -270 in the Nashville Regional, ahead of Texas (-270), Auburn (-260), Oregon (-210), UCLA (-145), Coastal Carolina (-125), Florida State (-125), Oregon State (-120), Southern Miss (-105), Ole Miss (-105) and Clemson (+115).
Vols are hosting regional for fourth time in five seasons
Tennessee is a perfect 9-0 at home in the regional round under Tony Vitello.
Last season the Vols, who were the No. 1 overall seed, swept through Northern Kentucky, Indiana and Southern Miss in the Knoxville Regional, then went three games with Evansville in the Super Regional.

Tennessee in 2022 swept through the Knoxville Regional, beating Alabama State 10-0, Campbell 12-7 and Georgia Tech 9-6 to advance to the Super Regional round.
The Vols in 2021 hosted regional play at Lindsey Nelson Stadium for the first time since 2005 and started things with a bang, with Drew Gilbert hitting a walk-off grand slam to beat Wright State 9-8 in the first game of the weekend.
Tennessee then beat Liberty 9-3 and 3-1 over the next two days, advancing to the Super Regional round, where the Vols would host and sweep No. 14 LSU.
Tennessee’s path to the 2024 national championship
After going through Northern Kentucky, Indiana and Southern Miss in the Knoxville Regional last season, Tennessee beat Evansville in three games in the Super Regional to return to the College World Series for the second straight year and third time in four seasons.
The run to the program’s first national championship started with a four-run rally in the bottom of the ninth to beat Florida State 12-11 in the CWS opener. Tennessee would then beat North Carolina and Florida State to advance to the College World Series Final against Texas A&M.
The Aggies took Game 1 9-5 and Tennessee answered with a 4-1 win Game 2. The Vols clinched the title with a 6-5 win in Game 3 to win the national title, finishing the season with a program-record 60 wins.
