How it Happened: Hunter Ensley, Tennessee hammer the Gators 16-3 in series finale
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Tennessee plated 11 runs in the sixth inning and Hunter Ensley registered a career day as the Vols took care of business in game three over Florida, 16-3 the final score in run-rule fashion, recording the seventh-straight Southeastern Conference series victory for the Vols.
No. 3 UT (39-9, 17-7 SEC) saw Ensley deliver two, two-run doubles and a three-run homer, ending the day with a career-high seven RBI. The Gators (24-23, 10-14 SEC) plated the first two runs of the ballgame in the first inning and scored just one more the rest of the way.
Nate Snead (8-1) earned the victory on the mound after tossing the final five innings of relief. Jac Caglianone (5-1) is the losing pitcher on the day after allowing four runs off six hits in five innings of work.
Tennessee returns home on Tuesday to face off with Queens, but first, here’s how it all went down from The Swamp in game three of the series.
