How it Happened: Dean Curley’s career day leads Vols in 15-5 beatdown of K-State

Freshman Dean Curley etched his name in the Tennessee record books Tuesday night when Tennessee hammered Kansas State 15-5 in midweek action.

The freshman shortstop homered three times and drove in nine runs as the Vols (12-1) picked up their 11th-straight victory. Tennessee finished the ballgame with 15 runs off 17 hits (six home runs) while the Wildcats (7-4) managed five runs off eight hits in the showcase.

Nate Snead (3-0) earned the victory on the mound after tossing four innings of relief with two runs allowed on four hits. Owen Boerema (1-1) is charged with the loss after allowing nine runs off nine hits in three innings of work.  

Tennessee returns to Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Wednesday for another midweek bout with Southern Indiana. But first, here’s how this one happened for the Volunteers over Kansas State.
