Up Next: No. 6 Tennessee at No. 5 LSU, Friday, 7:30 p.m. ET
No. 6 Tennessee (34-7, 12-6 SEC) goes to No. 5 LSU (34-8, 12-6) this weekend, starting with Friday’s 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time game (SEC Network+) at Alex Box Stadium. The Vols and Tigers play Saturday at 8 p.m. ET (ESPNU) and 3 p.m. ET on Sunday (SEC Network).
Tennessee dropped two of three against Kentucky at Lindsey Nelson Stadium last weekend, dropping its second straight home series for the first time under Tony Vitello.
The Vols bounced back with an 11-1 run-rule win over Lipscomb on Tuesday. LSU lost 13-3 in seven innings to Northwestern State on Tuesday.
“There’s some Listerine out there today,” Vitello said after Tuesday’s win. “Get that bad taste out of your mouth from the weekend … soon as that game’s over on Sunday, it’s kind of like being back in the subdivision. You get your butt kicked, you’d like to play 30 seconds later, like, let’s run it back.”
