Tennessee Baseball on Monday night did something that is becoming the norm. The Vols beat Wake Forest 10-5 to clinch a spot in the NCAA Tournament Super Regionals for a fifth straight year, a mark that is unmatched in college baseball.

Tennessee is the only program in the country to reach five straight Super Regionals, with the run dating back to 2021. Not only that, no other school has a streak longer than two seasons.

The only time the Vols did not advance to the Super Regional was 2019, the first season under Tony Vitello, when they lost to host North Carolina in the Chapel Hill Regional.

Under Vitello, Tennessee is 17-3 in NCAA Regional games and 12-1 in home regional games, with Sunday’s 7-6 loss to Wake Forest snapping a 14-game regional win streak and an undefeated run at home under Vitello.

Here’s a look back at Tennessee’s Super Regional run:

2021

Tennessee beat LSU 4-2 in Game 1 of the three-game series, then punched a ticket to the College World Series with a 15-6 win over the Tigers in Game 2.

The Vols were two-and-done in Omaha, though, losing 6-0 to No. 8 Virginia and 8-4 to No. 2 Virginia. It was Tennessee’s first College World Series appearance since 2005 and only the fifth in program history.

2022

Tennessee’s 57-win team and No. 1 overall seed in NCAA Tournament was upset by Notre Dame in the Knoxville Super Regional. The Irish advanced out of the Georgia Southern Regional and started the three-game series with an 8-6 win.

The Vols answered with a 12-4 win in Game 2, but Notre Dame sealed the stunner in Game 3, winning 7-3 to end Tennessee’s dream season on its own field.

2023

Tennessee went on the road to beat Southern Miss in three games. The Vols dropped Game 1 in Hattiesburg, 5-3, then rallied with an 8-4 win in Game 2 and advanced to the College World Series with a 5-0 win in Game 3.

The Vols lost to eventual national champion LSU in their first game in Omaha, 6-3, then beat Stanford 6-4 two days later. It was Tennessee’s first win in the College World Series since 2001. LSU got in the way again, though, ending Tennessee’s Cinderella run through the postseason with a 5-0 win.

2024

Evansville advanced out of the East Carolina region despite being a No. 4 seed in the bracket, beating the host twice with a win over VCU in between.

The Aces showed they were a real Omaha threat in Game 2 in Knoxville, beating Tennessee 10-8 to even the series at 1-1 and put the No. 1 overall seed on the brink of elimination.

The Vols, who won 11-6, answered the bell in Game 3 with a 12-1 win to advance to the College World Series a second straight year and the third time in four years.
