Super Regional schedule set for No. 14 Tennessee at No. 3 Arkansas

Tennessee Baseball’s Super Regional at Arkansas will begin on Saturday. Game 1 of the three-game series will start at 5 p.m. Eastern Time and will be televised by ESPN.
Sunday’s Game 2 will begin at 3 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN. Game 3 on Monday does not yet have a start time.
The Vols, the No. 14 seed in the 64-team NCAA Tournament field, beat Wake Forest 10-5 Monday night to advance to the Super Regional round for a fifth straight year and just the seventh time in program history.
Tennessee (46-17) beat Miami (Ohio) 9-2 on Friday to open the Knoxville Regional at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Vols then beat Cincinnati 10-6 on Saturday but lost to Wake 7-6 on Sunday to force the decisive Game 7 Monday night.
Arkansas (46-13), the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, advanced out of the Fayetteville Regional with a 6-2 win over North Dakota State, a 12-1 win over Creighton and another 8-3 win over Creighton.
Wake Forest (39-22) jumped out to a 2-0 lead after two innings Monday night, but Tennessee answered with eight unanswered runs, taking the lead and breaking the game open with a seven-run fourth inning.
Manny Marin’s three-run home run sparks Vols vs. Wake Forest
Manny Marin hit a three-run home run to give the Vols a 6-2 lead — just his third home run of the season and first since March 8 against St. Bonaventure — and Andrew Fischer added a two-run home run later in the inning. Liam Doyle closed with 2.1 perfect innings, striking out five of the seven batters he faced.
Tennessee was at Arkansas a little over two weeks ago, winning Game 1 in the weekend series 10-7. The Vols 8-6 in Game 2 and 8-4 in Game 3 in Fayetteville.
The Razorbacks are the highest-seeded team left in the field after Vanderbilt, the No. 1 overall seed, and No. 2-seed Texas failed to advance out of regional play.

Vandy became the first No. 1 overall seed to fail to reach the regional final after getting upset by Louisville and Wright State on Saturday and Sunday. Texas was eliminated by Texas San Antonio.
Tennessee’s Super Regional history under Tony Vitello
The Vols are looking to make their third straight trip to the College World Series and their fourth in the last five seasons under head coach Tony Vitello.
Last season Evansville took Tennessee to three games in the Knoxville Super Regional before the Vols punched their ticket to Omaha and the College World Series with a 12-1 win in Game 3. They would go on to win the program’s first national championship, beating Texas A&M in three games.
Tennessee won in three games over Southern Miss in the Hattiesburg Super Regional in 2023, after going on the road to win the Clemson Regional.
The 57-win Vols in 2023 were upset by Notre Dame in three games in the Knoxville Super Regional, losing Game 1 8-6, winning 12-4 in Game 2 then dropping Game 3 7-3.
Tennessee beat LSU in two games at home in the 2022 Knoxville Super Regional, advancing to Omaha for the first time since 2005.
