How it Happened: Blake Burke powers Tennessee past Charleston Southern, 6-1
Tennessee returned to action this week for the first of two midweek contests with Charleston Southern, winning 6-1 on a Tuesday night.
Zander Sechrist impressed in the start, tossing 4.1 innings of scoreless baseball – allowing just three hits with five strikeouts. Seth Halvorsen came on in relief and picked up the win. Blake Burke was a monster at the plate, driving in five runs and launching his fifth home run of the season.
Tony Vitello was back in the dugout after serving a three-game suspension against Dayton last weekend and transfer shortstop Maui Ahuna made his Tennessee debut and registered his first hit in a Volunteer uniform.
