Tennessee (13-4, 3-1 SEC) beat Florida 85-66 Tuesday in Knoxville behind a season-high 39 points from Dalton Knecht, who has 103 points over his last three games and leads the Vols in scoring at 18.5 points per game.
Knecht is fourth in the SEC in scoring while Alabama’s Mark Sears leads the league at 19.6 points per game. Alabama (12-5, 4-0) stayed perfect in league play with a home win over Missouri on Tuesday.
Alabama was ranked No. 1 the last time it came to Thompson-Boling Arena, with No. 10 Tennessee winning 68-59. Santiago Vescovi and Zakai Zeigler scored 15 each, Jonas Aidoo had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Uros Plavsic had 10 points off the bench.
Brandon Miller, soon to be the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft, scored 15 points on 4-for-11 shooting from the field before fouling out.
