No. 5 Tennessee drops in NET ranking after win over No. 6 Alabama

No. 5 Tennessee’s 79-76 win over No. 6 Alabama Saturday at Food City Center didn’t do anything to help in the NET ranking. The Vols dropped one spot, from No. 4 to No. 5, after the win over the Crimson Tide.
Florida jumped Tennessee, going from No. 5 to No. 4 after beating Texas A&M in Gainesville. The Gators lost at Georgia on Tuesday night.
Tennessee (24-5, 11-5 SEC) has won seven of eight games over the last four weeks. The Vols are now 10-5 in Quad 1 games, 4-0 in Quad 2, 4-0 in Quad 3 and 6-0 in Quad 4.
Florida (25-4, 12-4) has also won seven of eight, with the lone loss being the 64-44 game at Tennessee on February 1. The Gators beat the Vols 73-43 in Gainesville on January 7.
Florida is 6-4 in Quad 1 games, 9-0 in Quad 2, 4-0 in Quad 3 and 6-0 in Quad 4.

Auburn is ranked No. 1 in the NET, ahead of No. 2 Duke and No. 3 Houston. Alabama is No. 6.
Auburn (16), Tennessee (10) and Alabama (10) are the only three teams in the country with more than nine Quad 1 wins.
Tennessee has another Quad 1 opportunity at Ole Miss on Wednesday (9 p.m. Eastern Time, SEC Network) and hosts South Carolina in a Quad 3 game on Saturday on Senior Day in Knoxville.
Tennessee’s Quad 1 wins so far this season have come against Louisville (away), Baylor (neutral), Illinois (away), Texas (away), Mississippi State (home), Florida (home), Missouri (home), Oklahoma (away), Texas A&M (away) and Alabama (home).
The Quad 1 losses were at Florida, at Vanderbilt, at Auburn, at home against Kentucky and at Kentucky.

The Quad 2 wins were Arkansas (home), Georgia (home), Vanderbilt (home) and LSU (away). The Quad 3 wins are Montana (home), Virginia (neutral), Syracuse (home) and Middle Tennessee State (home).
The Quad 4 wins are Gardner-Webb (home), Austin Peay (home), UT Martin (home), Miami (neutral), Western Carolina (home) and Norfolk State (home).
Vols move back to a No. 1 seed in ESPN Bracketology
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi on Sunday moved Tennessee up to a No. 1 seed in his latest Bracketology update, giving the Vols the fourth and final spot on the top line while moving Alabama down to the top No. 2 seed.
Lunardi now has Tennessee as the No. 1 seed in the West Region, paired with No. 2 Iowa State, No. 3 Wisconsin and No. 4 Texas A&M. Alabama dropped to the No. 5 seed in the Midwest, with No. 1 Houston, No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 Kentucky.
Auburn is the No. 1 in the South, with No. 2 Michigan State, No. 3 St. John’s and No. 4 Arizona. Duke is the No. 1 in the East, with No. 2 Florida, No. 3 Texas Tech and No. 4 Purdue.
