It’s the first meeting between the Vols and the Razorbacks this year. The two teams split games last season, with both teams winning home games.

Tennessee enters the final week of the regular season — the Vols finish on the road at Auburn on Saturday afternoon — in fourth place in the SEC standings, a game ahead of Missouri, Auburn and Vanderbilt. Arkansas is in eighth place.

A closer look at Arkansas

Arkansas is No. 15 overall in the KenPom.com ratings, ranked 11th in adjusted defensive efficiency (93.4) and 49th in adjusted offensive efficiency (113.5). KenPom has the Vols at No. 4 overall, No. 1 defensively (86.9) and No. 62 offensively (112.4).

The Razorbacks are coming off an 86-63 loss at Alabama on Saturday and are 7-4 over their last 11 games. They lost four straight games — at Auburn, Alabama, at Vanderbilt and at Missouri — between January 7 and January 18. They lost five of six dating back to a loss at LSU on December 28, after starting the season with an 11-1 record.

Injuries have slowed the Hogs this season.

Sophomore forward Trevon Brazile transferred from Missouri to Arkansas but suffered a torn ACL in December. Five-star freshman Nick Smith Jr., the No. 3 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class, was ruled out indefinitely with a knee injury in late December.

Smith returned in recent weeks, after missing 13 games in total, and on Monday was named the SEC’s Freshman of the Week after scoring 26 points against Georgia and 24 points at Alabama.

Tennessee’s Julian Phillips (hip) and Tyreke Key (ankle) are game-time decisions against Arkansas, according to head coach Rick Barnes. Phillips has missed four straight games with a hip flexor injury and Key missed the win over South Carolina Saturday due to ankle swelling.
