Tennessee Basketball to checker Food City Center vs. Florida, orange out vs. Alabama
Tennessee Basketball announced on social media on Wednesday that the Vols checker Food City Center for next Saturday’s game against Florida and will orange out the arena the Alabama game on March 1.
No. 6 Tennessee (17-2, 4-2 SEC) and No. 5 Florida (16-2, 3-2) on February 1 are scheduled for a Noon Eastern Time start on ESPN.
Both of next week’s home games are sold out, beginning with No. 9 Kentucky on Tuesday, a 7 p.m. ET start on ESPN. The Alabama game is also sold out.

The Vols go to No. 1 Auburn (17-1, 5-0) on Saturday in an 8:30 p.m. ET start on ESPN. ESPN’s College GameDay will broadcast live from Auburn Saturday morning.
Tennessee has played in front of three capacity home crowds this season, including the 68-56 win over No. 14 Mississippi State on Tuesday. The win over Syracuse in December and the win over Arkansas to start the SEC schedule on January 4 were both sellouts.
There was announced crowd of 20,706 for the win over Middle Tennessee State on December 23.
Tennessee’s other remaining SEC games are against Missouri (February 5), Vanderbilt (February 15) and South Carolina (March 8).
Tennessee sold out season tickets for second straight year
It was announced in August that Tennessee had sold out season-ticket inventory of 14,500 for a second straight season, making it the sixth straight full-capacity season that the Vols have sold 13,000 or more season tickets.
Tennessee last season played in front of capacity crowds of 21,678 against Illinois, Alabama, LSU and Vanderbilt. Four games were above capacity: Auburn (22,547), Texas A&M (22,322), Kentucky (22,206) and Ole Miss (21,932).

Entering last season, the Vols had finished in the top five in national attendance in the previous four non-COVID-impacted seasons. They’ve been top 20 in attendance for 19 straight years.
The Vols have played 41 home games in front of crowds of 20,000 or more during the Rick Barnes era.
Tennessee athletics in 2022-23 was the only program to rank in the top 10 in average home attendance for football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball.
Rick Barnes record at home with Vols: 133-24
The Vols are 133-24 at home under head coach Rick Barnes, with a 64-20 record in SEC games, since 2015. They’re 20-7 against AP Top 25 teams at home and 15-6 against top-20 teams and 12-4 against top-15 teams.
Tennessee has been ranked in the top five nationally in attendance each of the last six full-attendance seasons, dating back to 2018-19. The Vols finished eighth in 207-18.
Last season four of the six biggest single-game crowds in college basketball were Tennessee home games, against Auburn, Texas A&M, Kentucky and Ole Miss.
