Start time for Tuesday's Tennessee basketball game against Florida moved up due to weather
Tennessee basketball’s game against Florida on Tuesday at Thompson-Boling Arena has been moved up two hours due to inclement weather in the Knoxville area and will now be a 5 p.m. Eastern Time start. The game will be televised by ESPN2.
Snow fell across Knoxville most of the day on Monday and the low Tuesday night is -2 degrees.
The game between the sixth-ranked Vols (12-4, 2-1) and Gators (11-5, 1-2) was previously set for a 7 p.m. Eastern Time start on ESPN.
The Vols also announced that the top of the G10 parking garage will be closed, but all fans with a G10 pass can still park in the lower levels of the garage. The G5/G30 garage will be closed and fans with passes for those lots can instead park in G3 or G4.
Tennessee had two road games last week, losing 77-72 at Mississippi State on Wednesday and winning 85-79 at Georgia on Saturday. The Vols are home for two games this week, hosting Alabama on Saturday (2 p.m. ET, ESPN2) after hosting Florida.

Florida is No. 4o overall in the KenPom.com ratings, ranked No. 25 in adjusted offensive efficiency (116.3) and No. 79 in adjusted defensive efficiency. After the win at Georgia, Tennessee is No. 20 on offense and No. 4 on defense.
“They want to get downhill,” Tennessee associate head coach Justin Gainey said before practice on Monday. “They want to get to the basket, they want to get to the free-throw line.”
The Gators have five players averaging double figures, with guards Walter Clayton Jr. and Zyon Pullin leading the way. Clayton averages 15.9 points per game, just ahead of Pullin’s 15.2. Forward Tyreese Samuel averages 13.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Guard Riley Kugel averages 11.5 points per game and Will Richard averages 10.8.
“Both of those guys are really good and Kugel is good,” Gainey said. “Samuel is good. I mean they got a really good team, but their guard play is as strong as there is in the league.
“So it’s going to take a team effort. Not one guy will be able to do the job because they’re so aggressive. They are so talented and the offense is designed for them to attack certain areas so it won’t just be the guy on the ball.”
