No. 8 Tennessee will be without senior wing Josiah-Jordan James against Austin Peay on Wednesday night at Thompson-Boling Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. Eastern Time, streaming on SEC Network+ or ESPN+.

James is missing his third straight game and seventh of the season due to knee soreness. He missed four in a row earlier this season, then returned Tennessee’s 94-40 win over Alcorn State. Last week against Eastern Kentukcy he played 17 minutes off the bench after playing 14 against Alcorn.

“It’s important for him to get (healthy) more than anything,” Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said last week. “If you know Josiah, it’s killing him that he can’t get out there. He wants to be 100 percent, his teammates do. We all feel for him because we know how hard he works at it.”

James, who underwent a knee scope in the spring, played the first three games of the regular season before missing the next four.
