Tennessee Basketball’s game at Louisville on November 9 will be a Noon Eastern Time start and will be televised by ACC Network. The two schools in June announced a two-year home-and-home series, with the Vols hosting the Cardinals in December 2025.

The Noon ET start at KFC Yum! Center in Louisville on November 9 will be part of a Saturday doubleheader for Tennessee fans. Tennessee Football hosts Mississippi State later that night at Neyland Stadium, a game that will start between 6-8 p.m.

Tennessee and Louisville have played 20 times dating back to 1913, but haven’t matched up on home courts since playing four games between December 2001 and January 2005. The Cardinal went 4-0 in the two home-and-homes.

The two teams last met in November 2018, when Tennessee won 92-81 in the NIT Season Tip-Off at Barclays Center in New York City. Louisville beat the Vols 79-60 in Charlotte in the Sweet 16 in March 2008.

Louisville won just eight games last season, finishing 8-24 before firing Kenny Payne after he went 12-52 in two seasons at the school.

Pat Kelsey, the former Winthrop and Charleston head coach, was hired at Louisville in March. He went 75-27 in three seasons at Charleston, taking the Cougars to two NCAA Tournaments. He went 186-95 in nine seasons at Winthrop, going to the NCAA Tournament twice.

A closer look at the Vols’ non-conference schedule

The 2024-25 season will start on November 4 at home against Gardner-Webb, starting a non-conference schedule that includes games against Syracuse, Virginia, Miami and Illinois, along with Louisville.

The Vols released their full non-conference schedule in August, including eight home games out of the 12 total non-conference games.

Tennessee will play Miami in the Jimmy V Classic on December 10 at Madison Square Garden in New York. It will be a 6:30 p.m. ET start on ESPN.
