Start time, TV announced for No. 2 Tennessee vs. No. 15 Wofford in NCAA Tournament

Tennessee Basketball will face Wofford in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday at 6:50 p.nm. Eastern Time at Rupp Arena in Lexington. The game will be televised by TNT, with Brian Anderson, Jim Jackson and Allie LaForce on the call.
The Vols (27-7), who opened as a 19.5-point favorite in the first round, are the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region, facing the 15th-seeded Terriers (19-15) opposite of No. 7 UCLA (22-10) and No. 10 Utah State (26-7).
Houston is the No. 1 seed in the Midwest and Kentucky is the No. 3 seed. The Wildcats face No. 14 Troy in Milwaukee, opposite of No. 6 Illinois, which will face either No. 11 Texas or No. 11 Xavier out of the First Four in Dayton.

Houston faces SIU Edwardsville opposite of No. 8 Gonzaga vs. No. 9 Georgia. No. 5 Clemson faces No. 12 McNeese and No. 4 Purdue faces No. 13 High Point.
Tennessee is the No. 5 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and Wofford is No. 60.
Wofford made the NCAA Tournament as an automatic qualifier after winning the Southern Conference Tournament. The Terriers are ranked No. 120 in KenPom. They’re No. 67 in adjusted offensive efficiency, scoring 113.6 points per game, and are No. 231 in adjusted defensive efficiency, giving up 109.5 points per 100 possessions.
KenPom projects Tennessee to win 76-59, with a 93% chance to win. KenPom also gives Tennessee a 71.7% chance to make the Sweet 16 and a 50.4% chance to make the Elite Eight. The Vols have a 26.3% chance to make the Final Four.
Tennessee lost 86-77 to Florida Sunday afternoon in the SEC Tournament championship at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The Vols entered Sunday ranked No. 5 in the NET with an 11-6 record in Quad 1 games, a 6-0 record in Quad 2 and a 5-0 record in both Quad 3 and Quad 4. Wofford is ranked No. 131 in the NET.
Tennessee’s history as a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament
Tennessee has been a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament four times in program history: 2006, 2008, 2019 and 2024.
In 2019, the Vols beat No. 15-seed Colgate 77-70 in the first round in Columbus, Ohio, survived No. 7-seed Iowa 83-77 in overtime in the second round, then lost to No. 3-seed Purdue 99-94 in overtime in Louisville in the Sweet Sixteen.
Tennessee in 2008 beat American 72-57 in the first round and Butler in the second round, 76-71 in overtime, before losing 79-60 to Louisville in the Sweet Sixteen.
The Vols in 2006 beat Winthrop 63-61 in the first round in Greensboro, then lost 80-73 to No. 7-seed Wichita State in the second round.
