A closer look at Tennessee's NET ranking, Quad 1 record and remaining Quad 1 games
Tennessee Basketball’s 74-70 win at Texas Saturday night at the Moody Center in Austin was the fourth Quad 1 win of the season for the Vols. It was also the second of a run of what is currently eight straight Quad 1 games, a sign of things to come with SEC play underway.
The Vols have 15 games left on schedule, with 12 of the 15 being Quad 1 games. The only exceptions are a pair of Quad 2 games (Missouri and Vanderbilt at home) and a Quad 3 game (South Carolina at home).
Tennessee dropped to No. 6 in both the Associated Press Top 25 and the Coaches Poll on Monday, as a result of the 73-43 loss at No. 5 Florida last week, a Quad 1 loss and the only loss of the season so far for the Vols.
Tennessee (15-1, 2-1 SEC) will look to add its first Quad 1 home win when it faces No. 23 Georgia (14-2, 2-1) on Wednesday (8 p.m. Eastern Time, SEC Network). The Bulldogs entered the rankings on Monday after home wins over Kentucky and Oklahoma last week.
