Tennessee Basketball stayed at No. 4 in the Coaches Poll after going 2-0 last week with a home win over Missouri and a road win at Oklahoma.

Alabama is the new No. 1 in the Coaches Poll after previously No. 1-ranked Auburn lost 90-81 to Florida at home on Saturday. Auburn is now ranked No. 2 and Florida is No. 3. Duke, ranked No. 2 last week, fell to No. 5 after losing at Clemson.

The Vols dropped to No. 5 in the Associated Press Top 25, with Florida and Duke tied at No. 3 behind No. 1 Auburn and No. 2 Alabama.

Tennessee (20-4, 7-4 SEC) goes to No. 18 Kentucky (16-7, 5-5) on Tuesday in a 7 p.m. Eastern Time start on ESPN at Rupp Arena in Lexington, then host Vanderbilt (17-6, 5-5) on Saturday (1 p.m. ET, SEC Network).

Tennessee has second-most Quad 1 wins in College Basketball

Tennessee is down to just seven games left on the regular-season schedule, with the win at Oklahoma starting a stretch of four out of five games on the road. The Vols go to Texas A&M on February 22, after hosting Vanderbilt this Saturday, and go to LSU on February 25.

The March schedule includes home dates against Alabama (March 1), a road game at South Carolina (March 5) and the regular-season finale at home against South Carolina (March 8) before postseason play begins with the SEC Tournament (March 12-16) at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Tennessee moved up four spots to No. 4 in both polls last week, following a 64-44 home win over Florida last Saturday.

Tennessee is ranked No. 4 in the NET with an 8-4 Quad 1 record. It’s the second most Quad 1 wins in college basketball, behind only Auburn (12-2). The Vols are a combined 12-0 in Quad 2, 3 and 4 games.

KenPom.com has Tennessee ranked No. 4 overall, with the Vols at No. 1 in adjusted defensive efficiency, giving up 85.7 points per 100 possessions, and No. 33 in adjusted offensive efficiency, scoring 117.7 points per 100 possessions.

ESPN Bracketology: Tennessee projected as a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi updated his Bracketology Saturday night, noting that Auburn “has plenty of cushion, even with its loss, as the No. 1 overall seed” and that Duke would also stay on the No. 1 seed line after a loss at Clemson.

Tennessee started Saturday as Lunardi’s No. 4 overall seed. Alabama jumped up to Lunardi’s No. 2 overall seed and Duke was the No. 3 seed, just ahead of the Vols.

The No. 2 seeds were Florida, Purdue, Houston and Duke, in that order, and the No. 3s were Iowa State, Kansas, Texas Tech and Michigan State, respectively. The No. 4s were Wisconsin, Marquette, Kentucky and St. John’s.
