2025 Five Star+ SF Caleb Wilson talks relationship with Tennessee Basketball
Tennessee Basketball is one of a few programs that could be getting an official visit from 2025 Five Star+ Caleb Wilson, the 6-foot-9, 195-pound power forward out of Atlanta. Wilson has already taken an unofficial visit to see the Vols.
“Their culture really stood out to me,” Wilson told On3 basketball recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw. “Coach (Rick) Barnes really prides himself on defense and he is really good with his offense ideas and plays. Our relationship has continued to grow, we talk frequently, at least two or three times a week.”
Wilson is a five-star prospect across the board, ranked No. 3 nationally in the 2025 class in the On3 recruiting rankings. He’s ranked No. 2 among power forwards and is the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Georgia.
“I worked out with Dalton Knecht a couple of days ago,” Wilson told Shaw. “Coach set him up to do very well, and put him in good positions. Obviously, he is a really goo player too, but set him up to play really well.”

Wilson broke down his interest in Arkansas, Auburn, Tennessee, Baylor, Kansas, Alabama, Duke and North Carolina during his interview with Shaw.
“I don’t have an exact time frame for visits yet,” he said. “I just want to go on them next fall. I don’t think that I’ll be signing early.

“I’ll probably wait until the spring because there is a lot of change that can happen, coaches leaving, getting fired, all that. You commit to a coach, so I’ll probably want to wait.”
Tennessee currently has one commitment in the 2025 class: Four-star center Dewayne Brown. The 6-foot-9, 235-pound center from Hoover, Ala., is ranked No. 108 overall in the On3 rankings. He’s No. 15 among centers and No. 1 in the state of Alabama.
Wilson said during his recruitment he’s look for “a coach that believes in me” and that play style “will matter.”
“I’m a versatile player,” Wilson told Shaw, “so I want to play in a system that allows me to play versatilely. I’d like to play in a defense that allows me to switch and guard multiple players. Offensively, I feel like the game comes to you and there is not much iso-ball, and that is no matter where you go. So I’m focusing more on defense. Playing with good, unselfish players will be something I look at too.”
On3 Scouting Report: Caleb Wilson
Caleb Wilson has a great frame, good length and natural pop. He plays really well in a phone booth, efficient movements in tight spaces, shows the footwork to shake free with the ball in the half court. He needs to continue getting stronger, which will help his base and balance. He is explosive around the basket, has go-to comfort over his left shoulder with patience. He can push the break and plays with pace. He has a vast array of offensive moves, at multiple levels. He is still learning his body and still gaining strength, this will only help his consistency. Tracking as one of the top players in his class.
