Tennessee Basketball schedules official visit with four-star point guard

Tennessee Basketball set to host four-star point guard Chance Mallory on an official visit next weekend, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Mallory is a former Virginia commitment who reopened his recruitment following the Tony Bennett’s retirement in October.
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Mallory, out of Charlottesville, Va., is ranked No. 54 overall in the On3 Industry Ranking for the class of 2025. He’s the No. 8 point guard in the class and the No. 2 overall player in the state of Virginia.
Mallory will be in Knoxville January 31 to February 2 and will be in attendance for Tennessee’s Checker Food City Center game against Florida on February 1.
He is coming off an official visit to Maryland and will visit Vanderbilt after Tennessee, according to Tipton.
Vols hosted five-star Brayden Burries on an official visit this week
Tennessee earlier this week hosted five-star combo guard Brayden Burries on an official visit this week.
Burries, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound prospect out of Roosevelt High School in Riverside, Calif., is the No. 12 overall prospect in the class of 2025. He’s the No. 1 combo guard in the class and the No. 2 overall player in the state of California.
Tennessee is the fifth official visit for Burries, who has already been to SMU, Alabama, Oregon and Arizona. He told On3’s Jamie Shaw that he’s also planning to visit both UCLA and USC.
Burries has a connection to Tennessee through his mother, who played softball for the Lady Vols.
“They see me as an immediate impact guy,” Burries told Shaw of Tennessee’s recruiting pitch. “They see me as a lead guard and to be able to play freely, but also under construction.
“They say they’re going to have the pieces around me and they’re going to hold me accountable. That’s the main thing. They see me as being like Dalton Knecht and Chaz Lanier, and those are great names to be a part of.”

Tennessee has signed two four-star prospects in 2025 class
Tennessee so far has added two players in its 2025 recruiting class, signing four-star shooting guard Amari Evans and four-star center Dewayne Brown during the November signing period.
Evans, a 6-foot-5, 204-pound prospect out of Pittsburgh, Pa., is the No. 83 overall player in the class. He’s No. 22 at shooting guard and No. 10 in the state of Georgia, where he plays in the Overtime Elite League in Atlanta.
The 6-foot-9, 235-pound Brown, out of Hoover, Ala., was the first commitment in the class. He’s ranked No. 103 overall, is the No. 10 center in the class and is the No. 1 prospect in the state of Alabama.
Tennessee is heavily recruiting two of the highest-ranked prospects available in the class, going after Burries and Five-Star Plus small forward Nate Ament.
The 6-foot-9, 185-pound Ament, who recently had the Vols in his top 11 schools, is ranked No. 4 overall in the class. He’s the No. 2 small forward and the No. 1 player in the state of Virginia.
