Tennessee Basketball reportedly reaches out to transfer guard Duke Miles again

Tennessee Basketball has reportedly reached back out to Oklahoma transfer guard Duke Miles, who had a visit scheduled with the Vols two weeks ago, before he committed to and signed with Texas A&M.
Miles has now been released from his National Letter of Intent with the Aggies and is back on the transfer market.
The Athletic’s Tobias Bass reported on Tuesday that Tennessee was one of a handful of teams that had reached out to Miles, a 6-foot-2 shooting guard who averaged 11.6 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 116 games over the last five seasons.
Bass reported that Miles has a visit at Georgetown scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday and has also heard from Virginia, USC, Baylor, Iowa, Gonzaga, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, Saint Mary’s and West Virginia.
Miles was scheduled to visit Tennessee on April 23, but committed to Texas A&M during a visit the day before. He was also scheduled to visit USC on April 25, before the commitment to the Aggies.
Tennessee has one scholarship spot open on 2025-26 roster
Tennessee has one open scholarship spot left on the 2025-26 roster after adding three players from the NCAA Transfer Portal and four prep prospects.
The Vols signed Maryland point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie, Vanderbilt forward Jaylen Carey and Louisiana Tech guard Amaree Abram.
The 2025 prep signing class was headlined by five-star wing Nate Ament, who committed to Tennessee on April 20. The Vols also signed four-star guard Amari Evans, four-star center Dewayne Brown and three-star point guard Troy Henderson.

Ament finished at No. 2 overall in the On3 Top 150 for the 2025 class, while Browns is ranked No. 100 and Evans is No. 101.
Miles averaged 17.5 points per game at High Point in 2023-24
Miles, a native of Montgomery, Ala., averaged a career-best 17.5 points, 3.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game at High Point during the 2023-24 season. He averaged 9.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 34 games at Oklahoma last season, while shooting 43.0% from the 3-point line and 51.4% from the field.
Miles was 40-for-93 from three with the Sooners and 44-for-122 two seasons ago at High Point. He started his career at Troy before transferring to High Point, then to Oklahoma.
Gillespie started all 36 games at Maryland this season, averaging 14.7 points and 4.8 assists in 31.6 minutes per game while shooting 45.3% from the floor and 40.7% from the 3-point line, where he made 87 of 214 attempts.
He’s a Greeneville, Tenn. native, who started his college basketball career at Belmont, averaging 17.2 points, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals in 31.4 minutes per game as a sophomore at Belmont in 2023-24.
Carey, the 6-foot-8, 245-pound sophomore, averaged 8.0 points and 5.7 rebounds in 20.2 minutes per game at Vanderbilt this season.
Abram averaged 12.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists at Louisiana Tech last season. He shot 42.2% from the field, 37.3% from the 3-point line and averaged 32.1 minutes per game while starting all 32 games.
