POSTGAME MINI-POD: Tennessee doesn’t back down, beats Florida in front of packed house

It was a good day for the Tennessee football program as the Volunteers defeated archrival Florida 38-33, snapping a five-game losing skid in the series.
Austin Price and Eric Cain hand out some instant reactions as UT remains perfect on the season, despite a late push from the Gators.
Hendon Hooker tallied a monster outing, throwing for 349 yards on 22 completions and rushing for a Tennessee career-high, 112 yards on 13 attempts. Tennessee piled on for 576 yards of total offense, scoring 14 points in the third quarter to take a 10-point lead twice in the frame.

Tennessee scored touchdowns on the first three possessions of the second half, leading the Gators by 17 midway through the fourth quarter. The Vols scored on every possession excluding two where they fumbled – one of which inside the redzone by Princeton Fant.
Defensively, Tennessee was sharp against the run, holding the Gators to just 141 yards on the day.
With the win, Josh Heupel registers his first win over team from the ‘The Big 3’ on Tennessee’s schedule (Florida, Georgia and Alabama). It puts the Vols at a 4-0 record with the BYE week coming up next weekend. When the Vols next play in two weeks down in Baton Rouge, Tennessee could very well be ranked inside the top-10.
