Rocky Top Rewind: VFL Ramon Foster breaks down Tennessee’s rivalry win over Florida
Former Tennessee offensive lineman Ramon Foster was the keynote speaking on this week’s Rocky Top Rewind as Brent Hubbs and Eric Cain detailed a Tennessee win over Florida.
The victory was the first in six years to the Gators, snapping a five-game losing streak in the process. The Vols now sit 4-0 on the young season for the first time since 2016 and are ranked at No. 9 in the week five AP College Football Poll.
The Vols racked up 576 yards of total offense in the win with Hendon Hooker accounted for roughly 80 percent of that total with 461 yards on his own. The senior quarterback ran for a career-high of 112 yards and threw for 349 yards in the outing, completing 78 percent of his passes. Hooker accounted for three total touchdowns in the win.
Largely thanks to Hooker, Tennessee finished with over 200 yards on the ground for the third time this season and the 11th in the past two seasons. The Vols have posted 200 yards on the ground in six of their past seven games dating back to last season.

Wideout Ramel Keyton, who got the start in place of an injured Cedric Tillman, made the play of the game when he hauled in a 43-yard reception while fully extended with less than a minute left in the first half. Tennessee marched 99 yards on that drive to score before the half as the Volunteers led Florida 17-14 at the halftime break.
Though there was a lot to forget defensively, Tennessee did force a pair of takeaways. The Vols have now forced at least two turnovers in three of their first four games of the season. Tennessee only recorded one sack on the night but posted 13 quarterback hurries, bringing that total to 43 on the season.
More than anything, Tennessee builds some confidence moving forward in the season. With the win over its rival, Tennessee exits the month of September with a flawless 4-0 record. The Vols receive a much needed BYE week and will travel to Baton Rouge, LA in two weeks to kickoff a pivotal SEC stretch.
