Game Highlights: Tennessee ‘upsets’ Alabama at home, celebrates on field afterwards
Tennessee football battled back in the second half to defeat Alabama 24-17 in front of a sold out crowd at Neyland Stadium.
It’s the second-straight win of the series in Knoxville as the Vols have taken two of the past three over the Crimson Tide. In 2022, Tennessee snapped a 15-game losing-streak to its rival and field storming ensued following the final buzzer.
The scene was similar on the playing surface of Shields-Watkins Field Saturday night as fans poured out onto the field and celebrated the victory. The goal posts were once again ripped down, but this time, they remained inside the confines of Neyland Stadium.
Tennessee (6-1, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) now sits in a solid position entering the second BYE Week of the season. The Vols are firmly in the middle of College Football Playoff conversations while Alabama’s (5-2, 2-2 SEC) playoff hopes are on life-support.
