Tennessee opens as road favorite for Saturday night's game at Florida
No. 9 Tennessee will go on the road for the first time this season as a road favorite.The Vols are an 8.5-point favorite for Saturday night’s game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, according to FanDuel.
Tennessee and Florida will kickoff at 7 p.m. Eastern Time Saturday in Gainesville. The game will be televised by ESPN.
Tennessee started the season with a 49-13 win over Virginia at Nissan Stadium in Nashville last week and beat Austin Peay 30-13 on Saturday in the Neyland Stadium home-opener. After starting the SEC schedule against Florida at The Swamp in Gainesville, the Vols return home to host UTSA on September 23 and play their first SEC home game against South Carolina on September 30.
Florida opened the season with a 24-11 loss at then-No. 14 Utah on August 31 and rebounded with a 49-7 win over McNeese in its home opener Saturday night.

The two teams have met every season since 1990 and Florida leads the all-time series 31-21. The Gators have won 16 of the last 18.
Tennessee beat Florida 38-33 at Neyland Stadium a year ago, but have not won at The Swamp since 2003. A year ago, Hendon Hooker led Tennessee on a 99-yard touchdown drive at the end of the first half, hitting Bru McCoy in the back of the end zone with seven seconds left to take a 17-14 lead.
The Vols scored in the opening three minutes of the second half to build a 10-point lead and it was a 38-21 lead with 7:55 left. Florida scored twice in the final five minutes to get back within five.
Tennessee won 24-10 at Florida in 2003, the last time the Vols won on the road against Florida. The Gators won 28-27 in 2015, 26-20 in 2017, 34-3 in 2019 and 38-14 in 2021.
