The wait is over. Football is back inside Neyland Stadium and the Tennessee Volunteers are poised to have an exciting season with first-year starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava.

Chattanooga is first up for the 12:45 pm ET kick on Saturday afternoon. The Vols sit as 38.5-point favorites, according to FanDuel sportsbook, with a total set at 56.5. UTC was a playoff team a season ago at the FCS level while the Vols finished the season at 9-4 with an exciting win over Iowa in the Citrus Bowl.

Grant Ramey once again joins Eric Cain this season to preview all the action on GameQuest, a Volquest game day podcast. The two will set the scene for the matchup with the scout on Chattanooga. The duo will also go over their keys to the game and what they want to see in the contest that is expected to end in blowout fashion in favor of the home team.

Bold predictions and score predictions end the show.

Former Tennessee offensive lineman Ollie Lane also joins the show to provide in-depth perspective on the Tennessee offense, Iamaleava and so much more.

Tennessee opens the season ranked No. 15 in the AP poll while the Mocs are tabbed at No. 9 by the same publication at the FCS level. Chattanooga is also the favorite to win the SoCon after bowing out in the second round of the playoffs a season ago.

It’s the first time these two teams have met since 2019, where the Vols handled UTC in lopsided fashion. Tennessee leads the all-time series between the two programs 39-2-2 and the game will serve as the first Saturday season-opener at Neyland Stadium since 2019.

The Vols own a 95-26-6 on-field record in season-openers and Josh Heupel is a perfect 3-0 while at Tennessee (6-0 as a head coach). During season-openers, teams coached by Josh Heupel have outscored opponents 313-67.
