Five Tennessee players listed out on pregame injury report at Georgia
ATHENS — Tennessee Football had five players listed as out on its pregame injury report, ahead of Saturday night’s game at Georgia. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava and wide receiver Dont’e Thornton were removed from the injury report before Friday night’s update.
The Vols that are out are Keenan Pili, defensive back Jourdan Thomas, linebacker Edwin Spillman, running back Desean Bishop and offensive lineman Vysen Lang.
No. 6 Tennessee (8-1, 5-1 SEC) and No. 11 Georgia (7-2, 5-2) are scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time start on ABC at Sanford Stadium.
Georgia offensive lineman Micah Morris, running back Cash Jones and wide receiver Anthony Evans III were all removed from the pregame injury report. The Bulldogs ruled out running back Trevor Etienne on Thursday’s injury report.
Iamaleava and Thornton had both been listed as questionable on the injury report on Wednesday and Thursday, before being removed on Friday. Both left the 33-14 win over Mississippi State Saturday night at Neyland Stadium with upper-body injuries.
Etienne, the Florida transfer, is Georgia’s leading rusher this season with 477 yards and seven touchdowns. The Bulldogs are also without running backs Roderick Robinson and Branson Robinson. Running back Cash Jones was listed as questionable on Thursday.

SEC Injury Reports
The SEC in August announced “availability reports” for football, basketball and baseball.
“This availability reporting policy is intended to reduce pressure from outside entities seeking participation information,” said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey, “and represents a commitment of our 16 institutions to provide enhanced transparency to support efforts to protect our student-athletes and the integrity of competition.”
Players will be listed as available, probable, questionable, doubtful or out for their next game. On game day the updates will include available, game-time decision or out.
Schools of who fail to provide accurate and timely availability reports will be subject to penalties from $25,000, for first-time offenders, to $100,000 for “third and further” offenses in football. Men’s basketball, women’s basketball and baseball fines will be between $15,000 and $25,000.
