Nico Iamaleava, Dont’e Thornton cleared to play
Both Nico Iamaleava and wide receiver Dont’e Thornton were removed from Tennessee Football’s injury report Friday night and are cleared to play at Georgia. Volquest’s Brent Hubbs reported Friday night that Iamaleava had cleared concussion protocol.
Iamaleava and Thornton had both been listed as questionable on the injury report on Wednesday and Thursday, before being removed on Friday. Both left the 33-14 win over Mississippi State Saturday night at Neyland Stadium with upper-body injuries.
Thornton is Tennessee’s leading receiver with 505 yards and four touchdowns on 20 catches, including a 73-yard touchdown against Mississippi State last week.
Iamaleava has thrown for 660 yards and five touchdowns with just one interception over his last three games. He completed 8 of 13 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns before being ruled out at halftime against Mississippi State.
