Tennessee football opened as an eight-point favorite against Iowa in the Citrus Bowl, according to DraftKings. The total is set at 36.5.

It’s the first time in 22 years the Vols (8-4) are in the Citrus Bowl. It will be the sixth appearance in the Orlando bowl game for UT and the first since the 45-17 win over Michigan on New Year’s Day 2002.

No. 21 Tennessee (8-4) and No. 16 Iowa (10-3) are scheduled for a 1 p.m. Eastern Time start on New Year’s Day. The game will be televised by ABC. The Action Network has Tennessee as an 11.5-point favorite.

The Vols and Hawkeyes have met in football just three times. Tennessee won the most recent matchup, 45-28 in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville in 2014.

Iowa beat Tennessee 28-22 in the Peach Bowl at Fulton County Stadium in Atlanta in 1982. The Vols won 23-22 over the Hawkeyes in a neutral-site game in East Rutherford, N.J., in 1987.
