Former Tennessee WR Kaleb Webb announces commitment out of NCAA Transfer Portal
Kaleb Webb is transferring to Wake Forest. The redshirt sophomore Tennessee Football receiver announced his commitment out of the NCAA Transfer Portal on social media on Friday.
Webb was one of seven Vols that have entered the portal so far this week, since the portal window opened on Monday, and is the first to announce his commitment to a new school.
He’s one of three Tennessee receivers that have entered the portal, alongside Chas Nimrod and Nathan Leacock.
Kaleb Webb this season: 6 catches, 48 yards
This season Webb caught six passes while appearing in seven games. He had 48 reaching yards, with a long of 13. Last season Webb caught 16 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown while appearing in 13 games. He played in three games as a true freshman in 2022.
Webb was a four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He was ranked No. 217 overall in the On3 Industry Ranking, was the No. 38 wide receiver in the class and the No. 24 overall prospect in the state of Georgia, out of McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Ga.
Nimrod caught 10 passes for 121 yards in 12 games this season, recording season highs with three catches for 45 yards in Tennessee’s win over Kentucky on November 2. He had two catches for 34 yards against Kent State and combined for three catches for 29 yards against Arkansas and Florida. He caught 19 passes for 194 yards and a touchdown in 13 games last season.

Leacock caught one pass for 13 yards in the Tennessee win over Chattanooga on August 31 and it was his only catch of the season while appearing in five games. He appeared in just one game as a freshman in 2023.
Former Tennessee WR Walker Merrill transferred to Wake Forest in 2022
Former Tennessee receiver Walker Merrill transferred to Wake Forest after the 2022 season. He caught nine passes for 77 yards this season, including a season-high five catches for 30 yards against Louisiana.
Other Tennessee Football players that have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal this week include redshirt freshman linebacker Jalen Smith, redshirt freshman defensive back Jordan Matthews, sophomore running back Khalifa Keith and freshman offensive lineman Vysen Lang.
Tennessee last offseason lost 13 players to the NCAA Transfer Portal and added 10 players out of the portal, including tight ends Miles Kitsleman (Alabama) and Holden Staes (Notre Dame) and defensive backs Jermod McCoy (Oregon State) and Jalen McMurray (Temple). The Vols also added Lance Heard (LSU) at offensive tackle and Jaxson Moi (Stanford) on the defensive line.
