Kickoff time, TV information announced for No. 11 Tennessee's game at Kentucky

Tennessee Football’s game against Kentucky at Kroger Field in Lexington on October 25 will be a 7:45 p.m. Eastern Time start and will be televised by SEC Network. The SEC on Monday announced the full schedule for Week 8.

The Tennessee-Kentucky game was initially set in the SEC’s night kickoff window, meaning a start time between 6-8 p.m. ET.

No. 11 Tennessee (5-1, 2-1 SEC) beat Arkansas 34-31 at Neyland Stadium Saturday afternoon, after being off last week, and goes to No. 6 Alabama (5-1, 3-0) on Saturday night (7:30 Eastern Time, ABC).

Kentucky hosts No. 21 Texas this week

Kentucky (2-3, 0-3) was off this week and hosts No. 21 Texas on Saturday night in Lexington. The Wildcats have lost three of their last four, 35-14 at Georgia, 35-13 at South Carolina and 30-23 at home against Ole Miss. UK has wins over Toledo (24-16) and Eastern Michigan (48-23) this season. 

Tennessee is 4-0 against Kentucky under Josh Heupel, winning 45-42 in Lexington in 2021, 44-6 in Knoxville in 2022, 33-27 at Kentucky in 2023 and 28-18 at Neyland Stadium last season. 

The Vols lead the all-time series 84-26-9, including a 26-game win streak between 1985 and 2010 and an 11-game win streak between 1965 and 1975. 

Kentucky is 2-14 over its last 16 SEC games, dating back to the 2023 season. 

Mark Stoops in 69-76 (28-65 SEC) in his 13th season at Kentucky. He won 10 games with the Wildcats in both 2018 and 2021, winning the Citrus Bowl both years, but is 19-23 since then. 

Quarterback Cutter Boley has played the last three games and on the season has completed 48 of 84 passes for 627 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. Seth McGowan leads the UK running back with 79 carries for 431 yards and seven touchdowns and Kendrick Law is the leading receiver with 19 catches for 174 yards and a touchdown.

Tennessee’s remaining kickoff windows

The only other kickoff time currently set on Tennessee’s remaining schedule is Homecoming against New Mexico State on November 15, a 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time start on SEC Network. 

The Oklahoma game on November 1 at Neyland Stadium is in the SEC’s flex window, meaning it will start either between 3-4 p.m. ET or 6-8 p.m. ET. The Tennessee-Oklahoma start time and TV information will be announced next Monday.

The Florida game on November 22 in Gainesville is another Flex window and the regular-season finale at home against Vanderbilt on November 29 is in the afternoon window, with a start time between 3:30-4:30 p.m. ET.
