Tennessee football opened as a 20-point favorite over Missouri for Saturday’s game at Neyland Stadium. The Vols (8-1, 4-1 SEC) will host the Tigers (4-5, 2-4) for a Noon Eastern Time kickoff in Knoxville. The game will be televised by CBS.

Tennessee and Missouri have split their 10 games since the Tigers joined the SEC before the 2012 season. Mizzou won five of the first seven while the Vols have won the last three straight.

A year ago, Tennessee won 62-24 at Missouri despite the Tigers being a 2.5-point home favorite. It was a 35-12 win for the Vols in Knoxville in 2020, when Tennessee was a 10-point favorite.

Tennessee is 5-5 against the spread and 6-4 in over/under in the 10 games against Missouri.

How They Got Here

Missouri is coming off a 21-17 home loss to Kentucky on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers started the season with a win over Louisiana Tech, only to lose 40-12 at Kansas State nine days later.

Mizzou beat Abilene Christian on September 17 before a run of seven straight SEC games. The Tigers dropped the first three, starting at Auburn in overtime, 17-14, then home to Georgia, 26-22, and at Florida, 24-17.

A home win over Vanderbilt followed, then a win at South Carolina, before the home loss to Kentucky.

Tennessee dropped its first game of the season on Saturday at Georgia, falling 27-13 at Sanford Stadium. The Vols were coming off a 44-6 win over Kentucky last week at Neyland Stadium.

They started the year with a season-opening win over Ball State on September 1, then won 34-27 in overtime at Pittsburgh on September 10. Tennessee beat Akron 63-6 on September 17 and beat Florida 38-33 on September 24 in back-to-back home games.
