Where Tennessee Football's recruiting class is ranked after adding four-star Shaedy Hayward
Tennessee Football’s 2025 recruiting class moved up to No. 11 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC in the On3 recruiting rankings on Saturday afternoon, after adding a commitment from four-star safety Lagonza ‘Shaedy’ Hayward. The Vols are up to 19 commitments in the class, which has a class score of 90.89.
Hayward, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound prospect out of Toombs County High School in Lyons, Georgia, is ranked No. 100 overall in the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s the No. 9 safety in the class and the No. 13 overall player in the state of Georgia.
The On3 ratings have Hayward ranked No. 75 overall, No. 4 at safety and No. 11 in Georgia.
The Hayward commitment came in the middle of a huge recruiting weekend for Tennessee, with the Vols also hosting five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. and four-star tight end Dasaahn Brame, an Oregon commitment, along with other recruits for‘Big Orange Kickoff’.

Sanders, the 6-foot-5.75, 276-pound offensive tackle out of Charlotte, N.C., is a consensus five-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s the No. 1 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 1 overall player in the state of North Carolina.
Sanders is set to announce a commitment decision on August 17, picking between the Vols, Nebraska, Georgia and Ohio State. He was also set to visit Nebraska this week, before the trip to Tennessee.

Brame, listed at 6-foot-4.5, 225 pounds out of Derby, Kansas, committed to Oregon on June 29. He’s ranked as the No. 101 overall prospect by the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s the No. 4 tight end in the class and the No. 3 overall player in Kansas.
In-state QB George MacIntyre headlines Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class
Tennessee’s 2025 class is headlined by quarterback George MacIntyre, a five-star prospect and the No. 50 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking.
Hayward is Tennessee’s third commitment this month. The Vols over the last two weeks have added four-star wide receiver Travis Smith and four-star linebacker Christian Gass to the class, after getting four-star interior offensive lineman Douglas Utu and four-star edge rusher Mariyon Dye in late June.
Tennessee’s class includes 10 On3 Industry Ranking four-star players. With Smith, Gass, Utu and Dye joined by defensive lineman Ethan Utley, wide receiver Radarious Jackson, tight end Jack Van Dorslaer, interior offensive lineman Nic Moore and edge Jayden Loftin.
