Tennessee’s final regular season game at Neyland Stadium is set to play host to UTEP on Saturday for a 1 o’clock eastern time kick. The contest will also serve as Senior Day for several Volunteer football players who could be playing their final game at Shields-Watkins Field.

With the free COVID year of eligibility still in play for this football season, tracking who is done and who can return for another season of eligibility is not an easy task. Throw into the mess several redshirt-juniors who have been on Rocky Top for four years but played only three seasons of true eligibility, there could be more than a handful of Volunteers taking part in the senior recognition outside of those who are out of eligibility.

A quick reminder that just because a certain player takes part in the Senior Day celebrations doesn’t mean they are done at Tennessee or in college football. There will be on-going conversations and evaluations as it is truly a case-by-case situation between the player and the program. For example: Bru McCoy and Omari Thomas took part in Senior Day celebrations last season but returned for another year. Cooper Mays did not take part in Senior Day in 2023.

Senior Day celebrations are scheduled for 12:30 pm eastern time – 30 minutes prior to kickoff with UTEP. Vol Village will open at 9:30 am ET with the Vol Walk at 10:45 and Band March at 11:20 am. Gates will open at Neyland Stadium beginning at 11 am.
