Boo Carter setting Tennessee’s offense up with good field position on punt returns

“Man, great. I’ve been seeing Boo Carter making plays since my junior year of high school. Played a couple of 7-on-7 tournaments with him. So I know how special he is with the ball in his hands. And, man, hopefully, we can get him offense a little bit. So we’ll see.”

The difference for Tennessee after a scoreless first quarter

“Yeah, I just thought we started off cold. Picked it up as a as the quarter went on. We were just having too many errors early on. And we put it together as the game went on.”

Why the Tennessee offense started the game cold

“We are just going to have to watch the tape and see what we got to fix.”

What Cooper Mays and Bru McCoy have meant to him the last two years

“Man, I mean everything. These two guys right here, man, I’m super glad they came back. These are really my two older brothers, man. They’ve helped me with everything, just being here as a young guy. I’m glad I got these two guys to lean on. It will be sad for me to see them go, man, but I really love these boys. These guys are my brothers, man.”

Not getting frustrated and trying to do too much when things aren’t going well for Tennessee early on

“Yeah, it’s hard. The first play of the game, I missed a touchdown. And really from from a young age, I think I’ve just always been able to move on from certain plays. I really want that one back. It would have got the crowd hyped and stuff, but I missed that one. And then I really just try and focus on what the next play is and not not stuff like that affect how I play.”

If Bru McCoy had given him a hard time this season about not getting him a touchdown pass

“No, sir. Shoot, not at all, man. We’ve been trying to get him in the end zone this whole year. So I’m glad we finally got him two today. And I hope it continues on the rest of the season.”

The first touchdown he threw to Bru McCoy

“The first one was just a fade ball and I played Bru, one of my best matchups. And I’m glad I was able to deliver a ball to him where he get two feet in. I was super excited to finally see him getting in.”
