Tennessee Football is an 11.5-point favorite for Saturday afternoon’s game at Vanderbilt, according to updated odds from The Action Network. The total is set at 47.5 for the Noon Eastern Time kickoff at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville.
The Vols (9-2, 5-2 SEC) beat UTEP 56-0 on Saturday on Senior Day at Neyland Stadium and Vanderbilt (6-5, 3-4) lost 24-17 Saturday night at LSU.
Tennessee opened as a 12.5-point favorite last week according to odds from FanDuel.
Tennessee is 6-5 against the spread this season but it is just 2-5 against the spread after covering a 41-point line against UTEP.
The Vols started the season with four straight covers, against Chattanooga (-39.5), North Carolina State (-8.5), Kent State (-49) and Oklahoma (-5.5). They have failed to cover against Arkansas (-14), Florida (-14), Kentucky (-17.5), Mississippi State (-9) and Georgia (+9).
Tennessee’s last cover was as a 3.5-point home underdog against Alabama on October 19, when the Vols won outright 24-17.
Vanderbilt is 8-3 against the spread, covering against Virginia Tech (+13.5), Alcorn State (-33.5), Missouri (+17.5), Alabama (+22.5), Kentucky (+12.5), Texas (+17), Auburn (+7.5) and LSU (+10). Vandy did not cover against Georgia State (-8.5), Ball State (-27.5) and South Carolina (+6).

Vanderbilt started the season 5-2 with home wins over Alabama and Virginia Tech and a road win at Kentucky. The two losses came at Georgia State, 36-32 on September 14, and in double overtime at Missouri a week later, 30-27.
Vanderbilt has lost three of its last four games, losing 27-24 at home against Texas on October 26, 28-7 at home against South Carolina on November 9 and 24-17 at LSU Saturday night. Vandy won 17-7 at Auburn on November 2.
Quarterback Diego Pavia, the New Mexico State transfer, has starred for Vandy this season, throwing for 2,029 yards and 16 touchdowns and rushing for 671 yards and six more touchdowns on the ground. He had 229 total yards and two touchdowns at LSU.
Pavia had 308 total yards and two touchdowns in the 40-35 upset of Alabama on October 5. He has thrown two touchdown passes in seven of Vandy’s 11 games so far and has rushed for 50 or more yards in eight games, including a season-high 104 yards against Virginia Tech on August 31.
