The Volquest Podcast: Kentucky up next for surging Vols
As Tennessee continues its quest for perfection, another SEC East rival is up next on the docket. The Vols and Wildcats are set to meet for the 118th time all-time, but for only the third time as ranked foes. Tennessee won the previous two matchups back in 1950 and 1951.
Kentucky enters the contest ranked 19th in the latest AP Poll, sporting a 5-2 record (2-2 in SEC play). It’s been shorthanded at times with quarterback Will Levis and running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. missing time – for different reasons – but the Wildcats will be ready to give it their all this weekend in the game formerly known as the ‘Battle of the Barrel.’
Kentucky, who was OFF last week, won its last outing against Mississippi State, 27-17. Prior to the win, the Wildcats dropped consecutive games inside conference play to Ole Miss and South Carolina.
