UPDATED: Hattiesburg Super Regional Game Three to start at 10 pm ET
HATTIESBURG, Miss. — With forecasted thunderstorms in and around the Hattiesburg, Miss. area this evening, the decisive game three of the Hattiesburg Super Regional between Tennessee and Southern Miss that was initially delayed now has an official start time.
The contest is set for a first pitch of 10:06 pm Eastern Time (9:06 CT) at Pete Taylor Park and will be televised on ESPNU. The game was originally scheduled for a 6 pm ET. The Monday delay accounts for the third rain delay of the series, totaling over 20 hours.
Southern Miss won 5-3 in Game 1 of the three-game series, which started Saturday and was postponed by rain and lightning until midday Sunday. Following an 18 hour and one minute delay, Tennessee bounced back with an 8-4 win Sunday evening, rallying from down 4-0 after the third inning to even the series.
The Vols are in the Super Regionals for the third time in three years. Tennessee swept LSU at Lindsey Nelson Stadium to go to Omaha in 2021 but lost to Notre Dame in three games a year ago in Knoxville. If Tennessee wins game three, it will be the sixth all-time appearance in the College World Series.

GAME 2: Tennessee 8, Southern Miss 4
Southern Miss jumped out to a 4-0 lead for the second time in as many games and Tennessee’s season was on the brink. The Vols answered in a big, big way, though.
After a four-run third for Southern Miss, Tennessee erupted with six runs in the fourth and scored two more in the fifth to turn the game and the series around on the way to an 8-4 win.
Blake Burke hit a three-run home run that went 479 feet and Jared Dickey cleared the bases later in the inning with a two-run single and a two-base error. Tennessee’s two runs in the fifth came on a Southern Miss error. It was one of four errors committed by Southern Miss in the loss.
