Kickoff times set for Tennessee Football's first three games of 2025 season

It will be an afternoon affair for the first three weeks of the football season for Tennessee. 

Thursday, start times for ETSU and Georgia were announced. 

Tennessee’s hope opener against ETSU will kickoff at 3:30pm ET and it will be the Vols stream game as it will be carried on ESPN+/SEC Network+. The match up will be Tennessee’s second ever match up with the Bucs. The two played in 2018 when the Vols one 59-3. 

The Vols will kickoff their SEC schedule in week three when they host the Georgia Bulldogs. The game will be televised on ABC and is a 3:30pm start as a national game of the week match up. 

Tennessee is looking for their first win against the since 2016 when Vol receiver Jauan Jennings caught a Hail Mary from quarterback Josh Dobbs in a wild 34-31 win. Last season, Tennessee fell at Georgia 31-17. The September 13th game will be Georgia’s first road test of the year as the Bulldogs open the season at home against Marshall than Austin Peay before traveling up I-75 to Neyland Stadium. 

It was announced earlier in the spring that Tennessee’s season opening against Syracuse in Atlanta in the Aflac Kickoff Game was slated for a noon start on Aug. 30 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. 

The Vols are 3-0 all time against Syracuse with the most notable win coming in 1998 in the Carrier Dome when the Vols on 34-33 on a walk off field goal from Jeff Hall to start the road to an undefeated season and a national championship. 

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel is 4-0 in season openers and the match up with Syracuse will mark the second time the Vols have opened the season with a neutral site game. In 2023, Tennessee beat Virginia in Nashville 49-13. 

Tennessee will open fall camp on July 30th.
